Way back before Pinterest
Yes. Believe it or not there WAS a time before Pinterest. A time when you had to come up with your own inspiration without the guidance of a photo or video tutorial. And let me tell you, that led to some pretty interesting projects. Hey – when you’re new to the DIY game, you use what supplies and creativity you have.
I tried a lot of new things – mostly crochet and repurposing some furniture. I still do some of that, but the real work began when I bought my own house in college. It was a real fixer-upper. Like take things down to the studs and start over. And I had to figure it all out without the help of Pinterest ideas and YouTube videos.
I had one secret weapon though – a dad who is a contractor AND who was willing to do most of the work help.
Now don’t get me wrong, taking on an entire house renovation was time consuming and exhausting. But I discovered that I really loved the process. Being able to take something so run down and turn it into what my mind saw was really satisfying.
Fast forward an entire decade and I’m still enjoying the DIY lifestyle and even convinced my husband to jump on the bandwagon. Follow along and join in as we DIY our way through life.
Fun Facts About me:

3 If I could quit my day job, I would probably start a bakery.
4 I’ve completed two marathons – when I was 20 and 30. [But a marathon at 40?? Maybe not.]
5 I never go anywhere without at least two drinks. Maybe three.
