7 Products that Make Life Easier
I originally set out to write about “A Day in the Life of a Busy Mom” and some things that make it easier and just overall less stressful. But if I’m being fair, I know it’s not just moms who are busy so I would like to share seven things that make life easier. Period. A few of these products will be more specific to moms, but who doesn’t like finding ways to make their life easier?
I like sharing products, tools, and services that make life easier. This post may contain affiliate links and any purchase made through such links will result in a small commission for me (at no extra cost for you).
Products For Mom You
In general, I’m a very organized, prompt, and prepared individual; however, with the current lack of sleep in my house, I usually have about 25 minutes from the time I get up to the time we’re all walking out the door. That in itself is an impressive feat for that amount of time – 2 young kids dressed, the dog taken care of, and for everyone to load up and walk out the door. Bonus points if my husband and I pack our lunches for the day. It.is.CRAZY.
There are two things that help me get out the door as quickly as possible (1) my wristlet and (2) my coffee maker.
DIY Morning Mocha
I must give a disclaimer that I’m not a coffee drinker really. My coffee is a personal recipe with some cold brew, protein+collagen, and whipped cream. It works for me and whatever your personal go to is, I know how important it can be to have it easily available first thing in the morning.
So how to I make this special protein coffee blend in about three minutes? Simple – with the help of my Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker and my Electric Milk Frother.
The routine is simple. I keep my cold brew maker full and in the fridge. When I run low, I refill it the night before. A very hands-off process which is a win when you’re busy. In the mornings, I pour some into my frother along with my protein. Everything gets heated and mixed all together. It’s seriously so simple that my daughter can do it. (I should add her to my list – she is such a great helper!) After that, everything goes into my favorite travel mug to be topped with whipped cream. DONE. And I’ve got a delish, protein-packed way to start my day.
Wristlet for Easy Access
My second “tool” for an easier day is to carry a wristlet instead of a purse. (For added handsfree capability, I carry a backpack to work with my wristlet tucked inside – anything to make moving through my day easier!) I’ve been in the wristlet club for a while; BUT, my issue has always been that they were too bulky and the strap was never easy to get on.
Finally, I found my new favorite style. It started on a whim because I wanted something to match a $40 Amazon dress I ordered for a formal Christmas party. (Side note – the fit wasn’t perfect. But being the diy-er that I am, I was able to size up and seam in the dress where it needed.) Anyways, for a quick fix and a cute accessory, I found this wristlet that met my criteria:
- Easy to get on – No problem. The rigid bracelet was so easy to get on without fumbling but wasn’t so large that it fell off.
- Not Bulky – Two for two. The actual wallet is very slim, just enough for a few cards. And,
- Holds my Phone – Perfect fit. I don’t have the largest phone, but needed a place to keep it close.
If you need a quick wedding/graduation/wine tasting/other summer event outfit, I highly recommend my Christmas party combo. The sleeves on the dress look amazing and so unique – you are sure to get compliments. And with the wristlet, you don’t have to worry about sitting down a purse or wallet and having to keep an eye on it.
Easy Skincare Routine
I’ve never been much for skincare until I found Tula. Not only are the Tula products cruelty free and made with some amazing ingredients, but they WORK. Every single thing I have tried has worked. My current fave is the Protect & Glow Daily Sunscreen – it smells so good.
Let me get back on track here. I could rave about my Tula stuff all day, but the bottom line is, it’s easy for me to use. I like the products, the products work for me, and everything has been easy to use. Because of this, I can take a quick five minutes in the morning for a little self care and feel like I’ve done something good for my skin. Win, win!
Products For Kids
It doesn’t matter if you have kids or not…but if you’ve ever had to go through the evening routine – daycare/school pickup, snacks, homework, dinner prep, etc. – with them, you can imagine that sometimes things get pretty hectic. There are two things I rely on to help me through the evenings:
Puj Cups. Oh my goodness. I bought these cups a few years ago and thought I loved them. They’re easy for the kids to use for snacks or drinks, are dishwasher safe, and stackable for storage. But lately there has been a new discovery – I started using the included cup hooks. Total game changer! I have them mounted on the cabinet beside the kitchen sink – easy access for the kids and easy to put away for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly Recommend.
Retractable Baby Gates. My daughter was three before we finally put these gates up on our deck. Don’t ask me why. They were so easy to install and made our outdoor space so much more enjoyable and so much less stressful for me. 😅 The best part – they extend up to 71″ which means they stretch across our widest set of stairs with no trouble!
Products For Home
You might not give a lot of thought to the products you use on a daily basis, but having the right tool for the right job – or just having products you enjoy using – make things a lot easier and more enjoyable. Here are two things that I have started using that make my days slightly better.
Pyrex for the Win!
You can’t create a century-old company without having a great product. Pyrex has been around forever and I’m jumping on the bandwagon. We recently swapped out our plastic tupperware containers for these Pyrex containers. This made life easier in two ways: (1) I can pre-pack lunches for the week and stack them neatly in my refrigerator and (2) I no longer have to nag gently remind my husband to stack our lids a certain way because these don’t have any corner tabs or anything that have to be lined up.
Teema Towels
Don’t wait any longer to treat yourself to a Teema Towel. I have gifted several of these and have started my own collection. They are the most versatile, lightweight, cozy towels (blankets) I have used. Trust me on this one – you’re going to want more than one. Curling up with a book and a Teema is the best way to end (or start) your day.
There you have it. A quick glimpse into my day and the things that make life easier for me. And to make things even more simple for you – I have a page dedicated to all my favorite products (including any referral codes which usually offer a discount for you, too!). Check it out and be sure to comment below what your go-to product is. I may need to add it into my day!
